Easy Hanging Calendar DIY

As you guys know, we have a very busy (and exciting!) year coming up here on Marlborough. And with that comes lots of important dates and events to remember. In the past I have been pretty good at keeping my phone calendar up to date, but I knew that if there was any year that I would truly need a legitimate paper calendar, then this was it. So went on a search for the prettiest one I could find and came up with a way to hang it in our kitchen so that we could easily see it and update it. This hanging idea was so simple that I'm not even sure if it can be considered a DIY project, but I'm still going to share in case you want to try it at home!

Here's what you need:
- wooden clamp hangers (you can find them here or here)
- calendar (some of my 2015 favorites are below!)
- gold spray paint
- hammer and nail

And here are the easy steps:
Start by covering the entire wooden part of the hanger with painters tape.
Next, spray the metal part of the hanger with spray paint in the color of your choice. You can see the difference here!
Next, simply hammer a nail about halfway into the wall, clamp your calendar, and hang!
So easy! And let me tell you, having a calendar in the kitchen has been a game changer. Although we are only a couple of weeks into the new year, I've found that actually writing down important dates and being reminded of them visually everyday has been so helpful in keeping us organized and making sure things don't sneak up on us. This project may be small, but it's definitely going to be one I use year after year.

Want to try it at home? Here are some of my favorite calendar designs that I've seen this year. I have a feeling 2015 just may be the best year yet. :)
