This week on Marlborough 6.6

^ Giant pool float via Wayfair

It's the first Friday of June, which means I'm considering it the first summer Friday! I broke a sweat on a few of my walks to work this week, ate lunches and dinners outside, and got a few new freckles on my face - so I'm finally feeling like summer is here to stay. Last weekend was a great start to the season, celebrating one of my best friend's bridal showers and then celebrating my sister's birthday submerged in the pool. Lots of summer words (swim, beach, sun, HOT) have finally re-entered my vocabulary and I couldn't be happier about it.

Josh and I also went on a pretty awesome date night last night - we went to dinner at the Red House in Harvard Square (the lobster risotto is to die for) and then went to see one of our favorite bands, The Sweet Remains, play at Club Passim. We discovered this acoustic folk trio while in college (one of the band members is a UVM alum) and have been huge fans ever since. Their music makes us so happy - whenever I'm having a bad day josh can just play "Dance with Me", swing me around, and I instantly smile. So you can imagine our excitement when we learned they were back from their tour in Germany and playing here in Boston. Such a fun night. I love making memories with this guy.
Here are some fun Friday links!

  • How to make the best of 129 square feet
  • A synchronized dance routine that is so impressive it looks unreal.
  • I'm always down for making grilled cheeses cheesier
  • 10 rooms with summer views. How gorgeous is that master bedroom by Josephine Interior Design??
  • Uber takes to the seas!
  • Creativity can be a game changer.
  • The story behind the viral #flightyes2014 wedding.
  • The best small houses of the year.
  • Fruity summer cupcakes! I can't stand the cuteness.
  • And while we're talking cute, how amazing are these summer pool floats?
  • And while we're talking donuts, happy National Donut Day! After seeing lots of mouth-watering photos like these this week, I had to indulge in one this morning. (I got my favorite, chocolate frosted with rainbow sprinkles.)

Have a great summer weekend!
